CLIENT: VAILLO+IRIGARAY STUDIO
Occidens is an international exhibition that sets to stimulate thought and act as a permanent reminder of the origins of Western culture in different cities and countries.
The Cathedral of Pamplona is one of the places to play host to the exhibition and the Architectural Studio of Vaillo + Irigaray asked to collaborate with them in the museum design aspect of the project, in particular that of a very special place with a lot of history: the gardens of the Cathedral Complex.
After a lot of documentary research, we found some verses in Latin of the Song of Songs that praised the virtues of the enclosed garden and that have acted as an inspiration for many works of art.
We also decided to work on the typography and design one specially for the garden, based on a typography from the 16th century and use it one the garden walls with living organic material, instead of paint we used moss.
